Teenology for me has been a 18-year journey now and they say that good things come to those who wait. Believe me, I waited, pondered, thought some more, procrastinated and everything in between. It was not an easy process to pull out of me.
My journey began in the police many years ago, when I joined as an officer with a desire and passion to help and support young people. In fact, I think it possibly started earlier; as a young person I tried to save countless criminal boyfriends and spent my time listening to Steven Covey while my friends went our drinking.
Teenology came from my passion for creating environments, societies and cultures that really allow youth to thrive. My foresight, which always shows me where we are heading if we carry on the way we are (which is not a good place), my intuition, which just seems to know what is best to do and my courage, which allows me to speak my truth, knowing that some will love it and some will hate it.
For the brave, forward-thinking impact agents out there, Teenology is for you. For those of you who want to change hearts, minds and the world, Teenology gives you the framework to do that; the framework to start the bigger conversations we need to have.
Teenology is an ever-changing conversation, never set in stone and always shifting. While there is a model and a framework, it is flexible enough to grow and change with the landscape of youth, never dominant, never lazy and always open to new thoughts and ideas.
I see Teenology as a start of a collaboration of likeminded souls, people with a desire and drive bigger than themselves, ordinary people who want to have incredible impact.
